Periodontal disease
The toxins released by the dental plaque cause inflammation of the periodontal tissues (Pericoronitis). The symptoms of gum disease include bad breath, red or swollen gums, bleeding gums, loose teeth, sensitive teeth.
Treatment for periodontal diseases:
- Deep cleaning (Scaling and root planning), scraping off the tartar from above and below the gum line.
- Flap surgery
- Prescribe medications like oral antibiotics
- Instructions and nutritional counseling by oral hygienist.
